International Criminal Law
and
International humanitarian law

The firm advises and represents clients in international criminal law and international humanitarian law, in both advisory and contentious matters, before French, international, and hybrid courts and tribunals.

In the field of international criminal law, the firm represents individuals, corporations, non-governmental organisations, and States in matters relating to international arrest warrants, extradition proceedings, and judicial cooperation. It acts at all stages of the proceedings, from the investigative phase through to trial and appeal, before French courts, the International Criminal Court, and, where relevant, international or hybrid tribunals established to prosecute war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide.

In matters of international humanitarian law, the firm advises NGOs, corporations, and States on the legal analysis of situations of armed conflict, whether international or non-international in nature.

It provides strategic guidance on the obligations of parties to a conflict, the legal characterisation of facts, and the responsibility of State and non-State actors, with a view to reconciling operational constraints with compliance with international humanitarian law.

Drawing on her experience within international judicial and diplomatic institutions, Julia Basile offers an approach that is both legally rigorous and strategically grounded, while remaining attentive to the realities on the ground.
